Hi, I’m Jo. I picked Justjotravels as I’ve spent so much time explaining that my name is just ‘Jo’- not short for anything. Just Jo. So I decided to roll with it- and as you may guess- I love to travel. That was the easy part.
I’m Fifty-ish, married, working full time, and treating annual leave as a matter of national importance.
Just Jo Travels is where I share the trips worth taking, the wine worth ordering, the hotels worth every penny, and the restaurants I’m already plotting a return visit to. I enjoy all the important details and luxuries life has to offer. Life is genuinely too short for bad wine and mediocre views — and I intend to prove it, one destination at a time.
I’m not a gap year traveller or a digital nomad. I’m a real person with a job, a husband, and a passport that gets significantly more use than my gym membership. My idea of roughing it is a hotel without a decent wine list.
I’ve sipped rosé in Paris, watched the sun melt into the Indian Ocean in the Maldives, crossed the Atlantic and stood on top of mountains feeling very smug about it. Italy, Portugal and cruising the Mediterranean are coming next — and I have high expectations and a very open corkscrew.
If you’re fifty-something, busy, opinionated about thread counts, and absolutely refusing to let any of that stop you going places — you’re in exactly the right place.
Pull up a chair. Pour something good. Let’s go.
— Jo
